Background
- Dar ul Uloom Deoband was established in 1866 in Deoband, Uttar Pradesh India.
- Aligarh movement promoting Western education for the Muslims of the sub-continent

- So there was a need to expand the sphere of Islam
- For this purpose, Maulvi Fazl ur Rehman and Zulfiqar Ali established Madrassa education (Dar ul Uloom Deoband) for the Muslims of India.

- This institution (Nadwa Tul Ulema) was created by Abdul Ghafoor.
- Nadwa Tul Ulema was created because of the tussle between Dar ul Uloom Deoband and the Aligarh Movement.
- Nadwa Tul Ulema was established because there was a need for the reconciliation of Muslims in the sub-continent.
- At that time, there were sectarian problems in the Muslims of all over the subcontinent.
- It was one of the Muslim education institutions which presented a liberal view of Islam
- Nadwa Tul Ulema also held in the merging of Islamic values and Western Education.

Services of Nadwa Tul Ulema
Quran and Sunnah Interpretation
It helped the Muslims in the subcontinent’s education because it was the one of the institutions used to interpret the education of Quran and Sunnah in United India
Against Sectarianism
Nadwa Tul Ulema helped the Muslims of India against the problem of sectarianism. With the help of this institution, all the Muslims realized that there is no differences among them, they all are equal. They realized that Islam gives us the teaching of unity and brotherhood.
It was in favour of both Islamic and Western Education
Nadwa Tul Ulema advised the Muslims that there is a need to accept both Western and Islamic Education. Because the conditions of the Muslims were very poor at that time. Therefore, it was a need of time to get a Western Education in order to secure better job positions in the British Government.
